PR015-23206-W01 Centrifugal Compressor Station Efficiency

Nov 5, 2024

This study identified an array of technologies spanning aero performance improvements (including inlet guide vanes, re-wheeling, restaging, and casing treatment for the gas turbine drive), integrated system improvements (including waste heat recovery, absorption chillers, and gas turbine-turbo-expander recovery systems), and optimized use of assets (including station configurations with parallel and series flow capabilities, operating with multiple smaller compressors, and using genetic algorithm-based systems to optimize fuel usage)._x000D_

This study also conducted three case studies considering compressor re-wheeling, compressor re-stage / replacement, and pre-cooling the compressor inlet gas. Each was evaluated over a 5-year historical data set from a natural gas pipeline operator.
