Every year, PRCI produces a collaborative research program aligning with the industry’s priorities by means of an annual voting ballot. Members allocate funds directly to projects of importance to their operations and business drivers. Member contributions of millions of dollars each year continue a multiple-year trend of increasing research spending.
PRCI plans and develops these research projects through Technical Committees (TCs). These committees are comprised of technical and operations experts from member companies. They are critical in developing and managing PRCI’s research and ensuring collaboration in identifying gaps and avoiding duplication.

The Compressor & Pump Station (CPS) Technical Committee is dedicated to minimizing operating expenses and capital investments in compression and pump service while balancing market demand and environmental regulations. Fuel efficiency Emission control, monitoring & reporting Equipment reliability Greenhouse emissions reduction and measurementOverview
Featured 2026 Projects
Research undertaken by this committee applies to damage mechanisms affecting internal surfaces (process conditions) and external surfaces (environmental conditions) of pipelines, tanks, and facilities. Locations may be aboveground, below ground, or submerged in fresh or saline waters. Process conditions considered include water, gas, oil, multiphase (gas-oil-water), refined products, and emerging energy technologies, including alternative fuels (such as biofuels and hydrogen blends) and carbon sequestration systems. External corrosion management and mitigation Internal corrosion threat assessment, management, and mitigation SCC mitigation and repair Crack management Data intelligence and managementOverview
