PR186-233805-R01 Protocol for Testing New Technologies at the TDC
Abstract
The Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) Technology Development Center (TDC) is a test facility that consists of an area for flow loop testing, a winch system for pull-through string testing, storage space for pipe donated by pipeline companies, offices, meeting rooms, and work-shop space. There have been a series of flow loop and pull string tests, which are the most common uses for fully characterized pipe, conducted at the TDC as a part of many projects that have been managed by different test coordinators and pipeline companies.
This document is a standard procedure for performing flow loop and pull string tests at the TDC. It compiles best practices and lessons learned and provides a consistent framework for technology validation and enhancement.
