In an effort to better understand the detrimental effects of noise on worker productivity and general well-being, this report presents data gathered in the following three areas: (1) physiological and psychological effects of sound on man; (2) a nationwide survey of legislation concerning compensation for loss of hearing; and (3) a survey of anti-noise legislation in use in communities in the United States.
