Lean-head End Liner NOx Retrofit for GE Frame 3 and Frame 5 Turbines

The existing fleet of General Electric Frame 3 and Frame 5 gas turbines compressor engines was evaluated to determine if improved lean-head end-liner concepts could provide cost-effective incremental NOX reductions for select sub-models.

Key Results

Results were promising, with the potential for ~20% NOx reduction due to installation of the new liner that incrementally leans out the engine.  The analysis identified the parameters that would need to be measured during field testing, and contains recommendations and a test matrix to isolate the performance of the new equipment.  This project will be proposed for 2012 field testing, with applicability to GE Frame 3, Models F through H, and GE Frame 5 units. The Final Report is available for members on PRIME.
