Christophe Renier

Vice Chairman

Christophe Renier has held numerous leading positions within the Group GDF SUEZ since 1990. After graduating from the French Engineering School of Mines, he successively served in the engineering unit for designing and building underground storage facilities and transmission pipelines.  Mr. Renier then managed LNG sales and purchase agreements, was subsequently in charge of chartering the LNG Carriers for the Group, and took leading positions in the national gas transmission network dispatching. He then moved then to the trading entity of the Group, in charge of negotiating large international gas supply and transit contracts, leading teams for developing the Company’s position in the south of Europe and managing the transmission and storage subsidiaries in the Group.

Mr. Renier is currently the Gas Assets Programs Vice President within the Research and Innovation Division of GDF SUEZ. He leads the R&D programs dealing with E&P, LNG, Compressed air and Gas Storage, transmission and distribution networks, Carbon Capture and Storage. This covers, among other activities, the aspects of Integrity, corrosion, safety and security, ageing of the facilities and of networks, industrial and operational performance, gas quality and measurement. Besides these responsibilities as GDF SUEZ, Mr. Renier is member of various scientific councils of several companies and organizations.

Mr. Renier has been representing GDF SUEZ on the PRCI Board of Directors since 2006 and will be one of the first non-Americans in the position of Vice Chair of the PRCI Board.
