Report from the 2009 Pipeline Program Research Exchange Meeting

The PRCI Pipeline Program hosted a Research Exchange Meeting on February 3-5, 2009 at the Georgia Tech University Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The primary goal of the meeting was to provide a forum for the deployment and exchange of important research results. These results were from recently completed research or from select ongoing research that has reached a key milestone. An important secondary goal of the research exchange was the presentation and discussion of new research ideas by member company attendees and the researchers. This discussion is the start of our annual research program planning cycle for 2010.

Attendees included key researchers in the pipeline arena, many of our member company representatives and our US and Canadian regulators. To accommodate the breadth of research, there were four parallel tracks: Design, Materials and Construction; Corrosion; Operations and Integrity; and a fourth track that included programs addressing Longer Term Research, Mechanical Damage, Subsea Engineering and advanced approaches for Right of Way monitoring and response.

Portions of the 2009 Research Exchange were captured on a video which can be viewed via the link below. We received very positive feedback from the attendees at the research exchange this year. We hope that you will plan to join us for the 2010 Research Exchange which is scheduled for February 9-11, 2010, at the Georgia Tech university Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
