Publication Announcement: “The Role of Energy Pipelines and Research in the United States”

PRCI as a member of the Steering Committee on Energy Pipelines and Research is pleased to announce the publication of a PRCI copyrighted report that examines the role of energy pipelines in assuring the reliable and secure flow of energy from the point of production to its ultimate use by residential, industrial, and commercial consumers.

Critical to the performance of that role, the report, “The Role of Energy Pipelines and Research – Sustaining the Viability and Productivity of a National Asset,” examines the role research has played and will need to continue to play in providing the essential technical foundation for this broad and widely diverse infrastructure comprised of natural gas, crude oil, and petroleum products pipelines. The report makes clear that critical to the future of that role, the research endeavor must be based on multifaceted collaboration in research planning, prioritization, funding, management, and technology transfer across the spectrum of stakeholders whose missions, needs, and mandates are closely linked to pipeline performance.
