PRCI Selects New President
In announcing Mr. Johnson’s selection, PRCI Board Chairman, Paul MacGregor stated, “With this appointment we believe strongly that we are providing PRCI with the leadership it will need as it looks to sustain its success and enhance its service to the energy pipeline industry. During his career at NACE, Cliff demonstrated a strong ability, and justified reputation, in building diverse and valuable relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the industry, including government agencies. He understands well the unique needs and opportunities that confront membership-based organizations, and he has demonstrated the ability to develop the means to meet those needs and opportunities.”
In noting that this is an important time for research, and particularly collaborative research, in the energy pipeline industry, Mr. Tenley said, “I have known Cliff Johnson for several years and I have come to appreciate his intelligence and his passion for this industry. He will bring fresh thinking to PRCI and he will provide the leadership necessary to move this remarkable organization forward. Among his many attributes, his ability to both be a member of, and lead, teams will serve him well as he works with the outstanding PRCI staff and leadership of our Technical Committees. I very much look forward to working with Cliff to assure a seamless transition as he takes on this challenging, but very rewarding, assignment.”
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead PRCI at such an important moment in the history of the industry,” Johnson said. “I am looking forward to working with the PRCI Executive Committee, Board, volunteer leaders, and staff in fulfilling our mission.”
Mr. Johnson earned his Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Mr. Johnson currently lives in Houston, Texas with his wife and two children.
