PHMSA Provides Advanced Notification of White Paper Selection Under Recent BAA

A Technical Review Panel organized by PHMSA has completed an evaluation of the White Papers submitted in response to PHMSA’s Broad Agency Announcement (BAA, DTPH56-10-BAA-000001). Based on the Technical Review Panel recommendations, PHMSA has selected the White Papers that will be considered further through a full technical proposal. The next step in the BAA process consists of preparing more detailed technical and cost proposals for the selected projects. PHMSA has provided preliminary notification to the parties that submitted the approved White Papers of the Technical Review panel decision. Formal notification is expected from PHMSA in the coming weeks.

PRCI assisted in the development and supported a number of White Papers submitted in response to the BAA. Of those White Papers supported by PRCI, six (6) were approved. The approved projects are focused on inspection and non destructive evaluation technology R&D and modeling and defect assessment. PRCI will be coordinating with our research partners over the next few months to prepare and submit the full technical and cost proposals and identify the points of integration with our current research program. The approved projects will also be considered in the development of the 2011 annual voting ballot.
